week 14

The FINAL ENTRY to end this course




1. What do you like about blogging?
Blogging has increased my understanding regarding each lesson every week. Besides, it helps me to reflect and monitor my own learning creatively and critically.

2. What you do not like about blogging?
Compared to Google site, handling blogspot is easier but sometimes the process to upload pictures especially the animated one will take time. Besides, after inserting the pictures, the arrangement of our writing will be affected as well. So it’s quite frustrating.

3. What have you gained from blogging e.g. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. How?
Honestly, my language skills have improved from blogging because every week I have to come out with different entry. So lots of critical and creative thinking need to be applied so that my writing will reflect my maturity in writing as well as give benefits to the other’s readers. Besides, it has exposed me to technology as this is my first experience in blogging.

4. What do you like about this course?
This course have exposed me to lots of technology skills such as photo, video and audio editing. I’ve never experienced doing all these things before. All the skills are useful because now I’m able to edit my pictures as well as creating my own videos and e-book

5. What you do not like about this course?
Honestly speaking, there are two things that I don’t like; the module and the tasks. I’m not trying to say that the tasks are inessential, but with quite thick module such as module 1 and 2, it’s hard for me and most of us to cope with it. We have to be a very good time planner in order to finish all the modules and the tasks.


6. What have you learnt from this course?
I get to know lots of technology software such as Adobe Photoshop CS3, FxFoto, Audacity and many more. Besides, I have improved my skill in creating the technology-based teaching aids such as video, e-book and also podcast.



7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to?
As I said earlier, there are tasks for each module. So it really takes lots of time to finish the tasks together with the modules.

8. What have u expected but do not learn from this course?
Definitely the two books. I only used one of the books written by Susan Halliwell once during the class discussion and read it once for the final test. I think it will be useful if the book is explored well because it provides us with lots of activities for the ESL classroom.

1. Internet and computing skills


a. What do you like about this module?
The module helps me to learn about lots of technological skill such as how to search for a song, how to download video and download mp3 file, how to convert 1 type of file to another file and etc.

b. What do you not like about this module?
There are too many tutorials in the module. I find it difficult as I never complete any work that requires me to print screen all the steps.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
By completing the task, I learn how o prepare teaching aids for my future teaching.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
Nothing.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
Downloading skill.For the first time I am able to download my favourite videos by Moyea Youtube downloader.



f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
By using the skill, such as the downloading skill, I will be able to download appropriate songs for the students by using 4shared, and also download lots of useful video by using Moyea Youtube downloader.

2. Photo Editing




a. What do you like about this module?
This module enables me to edit pictures by using different softwares such as Adobe Photoshop CS3, Photoscape, ACDsee, FXFoto and etc.

b. What do you not like about this module?
The steps given as well as the print screen are unclear for certain tutorials especially for Photoshop part. Thus I need to search for tutorial on Youtube in order to complete those tutorials.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
I have learnt how to do ‘superimposing’ for my edited photos.It looks nice.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
The e-book because I have encountered some problems in uploading it into ‘mediafire’.


e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
Photo editing skills via photoshop, photoscape and photobucket.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
I can edit and use the pictures as my teaching aids.

3. Audio Editing Skills




a. What do you like about this module?
I have learnt how to edit songs by using audacity for example I have learnt to cut and combine the songs.

b. What do you not like about this module?
It is difficult to remove noise and also add effects to the songs. If we take a wrong step, the tune of the songs will be affected.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
I’m able to cope with the task because it not as heavy as the other module. I only need to edit songs by combining 2 songs, cutting songs and adding fade in/out effect.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
I took quite a long time to edit the song. After editing I, I need to listen again to make sure that everything is allright.If not, I have to reedit the song again.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
Audio editing skill by using audacity such as noise removal,fade in and fade out, increase volume and change the frequency of the song and etc.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
I can use these skills to create my own podcast for example by combining my own voice with background music.

4. Video Editing Skills




a. What do you like about this module?
The module has taught me about video editing skills such as import sound clip to video and split and crop parts of the video.
b. What do you not like about this module?
Time consuming.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
It is quite interesting as I’m able to create my own video.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
It's difficult to look for a video and suitable audio because the video is based on the selected theme in KBSR list.


e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
video editing skill such as how to extract pictures and audio from the video by using window movie maker.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
I can create my own video that is suitable with KBSR syllabus as well as suitable with my students’ level.
5. Software for ELT

a. What do you like about this module?
The module taught me how to create brochure, banner, poster, invitation cards and etc by using Microsoft Publisher.




b. What do you not like about this module?
nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?
It has increased my skill in creating teaching aids by using MS publisher.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?
We need to create lots of thing for task 1 and task 2.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?
Skill in creating teaching aids by using MS publisher such as
create brochure, business cards, poster, banner, greeting cards and etc.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?
I can create my own teaching aids that are suitable with my students for example I will be able to create a poster, invitation cards and banner and use it in teaching and learning session.

10. If you can change anything about this course, state what is and elaborate?
The number of modules given should be reduced because some of the steps are unclear and are not provided with print screen. So I faced lots of difficulties in finishing the modules. Besides, some of the steps are not the same like what it appears on our laptops. So we need to find other tutorials such as tutorials on the youtube in order to complete it.

Hye everyone,

Looks like there are only two weeks left for us to finish this resources class.
Due to all the abundance of work, I feel time move faster than it should.
The more work I do, the more keeps coming in and need to be submitted. These are the works that we need to submit :

1) Module 2 (photo editing)
2) Individual work, hardcopy + softcopy (task 1)
3) Pair work, e-book, hardcopy + softcopy (task 2)
4) Group work, lesson plans, hardcopy + sofcopy (task 3)

It's a lot right, but I knew there's something useful that I've learnt from it. It was a good exercise though. But if we were given more time, I think there is a lot that I can experience and digest from it.

The tutorials given are great but because of the time given were too short, i felt that there was not so much to be digested as we only do the same step form open the application until you're done with it.


Next thing is Module 4: Video Editing softwares and tutorials. This module is also one good instruments to introduce us to many various applications to edit our videos such as:

WEEK 12

HYE everone,

This time, i am updating my Resources blog to share with you what I've done. This week flew extra fast, without realizing it I'm now in the couples week before the revision.

What i was prepared for this week class is about the picture editing using various software and tools.

Before the class start, Puan Foziah had shown us the E-book done by herself. It was nice because it tells us about family and love. To me, family is the first thing that we need to take care of because they are the closest people we ever have. The E-book was interesting and colourful, and definitely attractive.

She also reminded us to select only good quality pictures, not the one with unclear images which is too small, colourful as the E-book will be presented to the primary children. Next, to insert the navigation keys, music and sound. Our video also need to have clear theme, plot and characterization. It sounds complicated but it is true that to produce a good and quality thing, we need to sacrifice many things.

Working with my partner, we have chosen to do the topic on number (SHAPE) to complete the video editing. Next, she walked around and gave comments and feedbacks. The comments was very useful for me to come out with a better E-book later.


Later, Mdm. Foziah asked us to come in front as she wanted to show us a sample of video which is a video of Chun and Ella. It was wonderful and give me basic ideas on how to create my video later. My partner and I decided to choose a topic on car and people. Hope this coming video will amaze everyone because it is one of our interest.

week 11

Hi, everyone. We meet again in this meaningful arena of education.
Here comes another week reflection.We were first shown by Pn Foziah on the tutorial on how we can edit the pictures perfectly. Then, I realized the powerful of photoshop software. As picture tells a thousand word, we can actually use a picture to portray our thinking without having us saying out our thoughts.

Well, it seems to be easy in editing one picture. However, editing a good and prefect picture is not easy either. We have to be really creative as well as innovative.

We were then asked to edit one picture of our own in order to bring the picture's message clearly and then upload in the assigned photobucket account. For me, I have chosen the theme of 'My dream Car' where i choose the picture of my dream car-BMW

As we know, car is part of human need in current life trend. It is important to choose a right car that suit to our personality and life need. Thus, BMW is the car that I dream ever.



Hopefully, this can TRIGGER my determination to buy this car soon. By the way, my dream car is TOYOTA CELICA

week 10

I was quite a relief as finally we have finished on our assignments because today is the day that we have to submit our assignment 2 (teaching aids) and assignment 3 (Lesson Planning).Although it was quite a lot as they were given to us at one time, we were able to complete it on time as well as learn something that is useful by using different types of resources that can be found from the internet.

Besides that, we were given time to continue on our module 2 on Photoshop cs 3 that was given last week. I found photoshop cs 3 to be really useful as we can also used them in our daily life when we want to edit on our own pictures. I would say that it is a good learning experiences for all of us as I believe we would find it very useful in our future life. I'll do my best. A part of that, we need to upload a picture on the photobucket. Any picture as long as it tells something. The picture must be originally edited by us. Well, I was quite excited with this task as I actually love the picture editing.

Well, that's not the end of the day as we are given three tasks to do

Task 1: Edit a song into ring tone
Task 2: Blending two songs together
Task 3: Edit the given song into a better quality

Thus, we need to be very meticulous and careful in editing the song as some of the lyric or tune might just be cut off if we are not careful enough. As a result, we might have to redo everything. Anyway, I would say that this is a good experience for us, as future teacher as we can always cut the unwanted lyric and the tune off in order to adapt the song into a suitability of the students' learning context or local context. I believe these would be very useful.

week 9

For this week, we were given module 2 by Haikal. However, we need to complete module 2 by this week because the date due is next week. So, it's all about work and work.

We are only given one week to do it. Pray hard in our heart that we are able to compete it on time because there are many other things we need to do instead of finishing the next module. We got lesson plan, techno kit and many more.

So, we should start working now as module 4 and module 5 is coming in next week and we are only given one week to do each module. Anyway, I do enjoy doing module 2 as it involves using photoshop cs3 which is very pratical to all of us that we can too, use this software in our daily life whenever we want to edit our photo.

Well, do not waste too much of time thinking and worrying, we shall start on our module 2 immediately.

Week 8

This week, we actually have no class. However, we received another module today, Module 3, the audio editing part. Looks easy but there must be some difficult part that will make my head dizzy. Then, there will be many things that we need to download.Hopefully, my laptop can stand for it. That's all.

Besides, we also were given a task before we go home for Raya. In group of 5, we need to prepare 4 lesson plans: 3 single period and one double period lesson. Ah, that was easy as we have been trained to do the lesson plan since we were in Foundation years.

Lastly, about the teaching aids assignment, we need to find the materials for the topic that we have selected for each year. Means from Year 1-6. The materials could be from the technological or non-technological source. I think it is an interesting and meaningful task to be done.
